The smart button can be flexibly mounted in the vehicle or even worn on your body. As long as you are within a 10-meter radius of the paired interface, the connection remains stable and reliable. The button can be individually configured via the free CANNY.LZR app – you can control up to four switching outputs with it, either alone or combined with other CANNY buttons. Canny is a CAN interface developed by Lazer Lamps that enables the installation of auxiliary lights on selected vehicles equipped with a CAN communication system. In these vehicles, it is often not possible to tap into traditional 12V control signals directly from the main headlights, for example. The system consists of the Canny dongle, a matching cable harness, and a special app (CANNY.LZR). Installation can be done either in the engine compartment, for quick and easy installation, or inside the vehicle. Thanks to Bluetooth, synchronization and updates are done wirelessly "over the air," further simplifying and speeding up installation. The dongle is equipped with an automotive-Standard Molex connector, providing a completely waterproof solution according to IP68. Thoughtful design features and the included cable ties facilitate installation. Positioning in the engine compartment is preferred, but depends on the accessibility of the CAN Hi/CAN Lo cables in the vehicle. The connection to the vehicle's CAN lines is made using the included cable harness. The blue (CAN Hi) and yellow (CAN Lo) cables are each equipped with high-quality, waterproof heat-seal crimp connectors. The cable harness also includes a fused positive connection for the battery and a ground cable. Four output cables can be individually programmed to switch various signals such as high beam, Position Light, ignition, reverse gear, etc. The outputs are compatible with Lazer Lamps vehicle cable harnesses (with an output current of >1 amp). Activation, synchronization, and subsequent updates of the Canny dongle are handled via the app. After entering the serial number and the individual PIN code, the user receives access to vehicle-specific installation instructions, can pair the device, and assign and test the desired lighting functions. Later updates, e.g., following changes to the CAN signals by the vehicle manufacturer, can also be conveniently installed via Bluetooth.
